April Ross
April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball athletes to capture medals at several Olympics. Ross will compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic medal along with Alix Klineman, a first time Olympian. In addition, Ross hopes to win her first Olympic gold. It could be Ross' last chance to take home an Olympic gold medal. But she is confident that the top honours will be within reach. Ross through NBC Boston, said that Ross was convinced that the team could get a gold medal by playing our best. That's why I'm taking the chance too. Ross was born on August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She was raised there by her parents. While at Newport Harbor High School, she participated in various different sports. She played basketball and ran the track as well as her volleyball skills in the indoors during her prep time. She was clearly the best in the game of indoor volleyball. As a high school volleyball season According to her university biography she played as middle blocker, an outside hitter, and setter. For her efforts, she was honored as the 1999 Gatorade Champion of Champions Circle of Champions Player of the Year. Her volleyball skills also earned her the Orange County Athlete of the Years trophy in 2000. Although Ross and Klineman are in the spotlight since the year 2017, Klineman had been an experienced star on the beach prior to their team. In reality, she was the winner of several major championships while playing with two partners. One of whom is the volleyball legend. Between 2007-2013 she played with Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Together with Kessy Ross, she won the World Championship in 2009 as she raced on the international circuit. The two eventually clinched one silver medal in the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team together with Kerri Jennings claimed the gold. Ross Jennings was Walsh Jennings partner in fate when Maytreanor retired. The pair received bronze medals in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Following high school, and for a few years before she hit the beach as a professional Ross made her debut for the USC Trojans as an collegiate. Her experience at USC was exceptional. In 2000, she was named Pac-10 Freshman and NCAA Freshman of the Year. She was also named an All-American. Her Trojans also reached the Final Four. During her sophomore season, she experienced a devastating personal setback, but she was able to make it back as an All-American. In her last two seasons as a player, she steered the Trojans to the top of the mountain, winning multiple national championships. Individually she had cemented herself as a legendary player having won the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross went on to study internationally-related studies at USC. Margie Ross never saw her daughter rise to the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother died in 2001. Ross was still a USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. She still cherishes her mother who died. And Margie continues to be an motivation for her at the beaches and throughout the world of.
