Anna Silk is a Fredericton resident, and is the daughter of Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had many talents, including being able to act, direct and produce plays, as well as write them as well as teach and serve as director of drama at St. Thomas University. Anna Silk's father was British and her mother, a Turkish Cypriot English expat. Anna Silk remembers her mother watching working in rehearsals for plays. Early on, Anna appeared on several commercials for television. Anna was transferred to Toronto in the fall of 1999 in order to continue her acting career. After that, she settled at Los Angeles (California) over the next decade. Seth Cooperman, whom she met at a Los Angeles actors' workshop back in 2007, became her partner in the year 2009. Anna was just recently converted to Judaism and they got married in Fredericton. Bo's similar-sex romance with Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was highlighted in CNN's list of all-time most viewed TV Couples as well as named the most popular TV Couple of the year 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's popularity on social networks grew as a result of Anna's show.
